Entry Requirements

General

  • Admission to one department shall not give the student any right to transfer to another department.
  • The Vice Chancellor reserves the right to cancel/refuse admission of/to any student without assigning any reason.
  • All admissions will be approved by the Dean of Engineering on the recommendations of admission committee of the department.
  • The university may devise other criteria for determining merit for admission from time to time.

BSc Engineering

Chemical / Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics
Eligibility Criteria
FSc (Pre-Engg)/A-Level/DAE OR equivalent having minimum 60% marks. Merit is determined on the basis of 50% Matric/O-Level marks & 50% UW Entry Test marks. UETs, NAT by NTS or SAT test results are also acceptable and such candidates are exempted from UW Entry Test.
Degree Requirements
The degree for BSc Engineering will be awarded after passing a minimum of 130 credit hours.
Duration
Minimum 8-Semesters, Maximum 14-Semesters.
Seats Allocation
The degree for BSc Engineering will be awarded after qualifying a minimum number of credit hours as prescribed by HEC/PEC. Presently the undergraduate admission is being offered in the following disciplines.

Electrical Mechanical Mechatronics Chemical Civil

Note: Above seats include 2% for individuals with DAE and their merit is calculated separately.

BS Engineering Technology

Chemical / Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics / Petroleum
Eligibility Criteria

MS Engineering

Eligibility Criteria
BSc Engineering degree OR equivalent qualification in relevant discipline with at least 2.00/4.00 CGPA OR its equivalent. Minimum 50% marks in Graduate UW Entry test OR GAT/GRE General + Successful interview.
Degree Requirements
Minimum of 25 CH course + 6 CH Research Project, CGPA≥2.5, Research Project Topic Approval Seminar and Thesis Defense Seminar.
Credit Transfer
Up to 6 credit hours of relevant courses from other universities with a minimum “B” grade.
Duration
Minimum 4-Semesters, Maximum 10-Semesters.

PhD Engineering

Electrical / Mechanical
Eligibility Criteria
MS OR equivalent degree in relevant discipline with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00. Minimum 70% marks in Graduate UW Entry Test OR 60% in GAT/GRE Subject + Successful interview.
Degree Requirements
48 CH (18 CH Course + 30 CH Thesis Research), CGPA≥3.0, Passing PhD qualifying comprehensive exam, Thesis proposal defense, publishing at least one research paper in HEC recognized journal, Thesis evaluation by three foreign experts. Thesis Final Defense before GEC in an open seminar.
Credit Transfer
Up to 6 credit hours of relevant courses from other universities with a minimum “B” grade.
Duration
Minimum 3-years, Maximum 7-years.
