Re-Opening of the University for Conduct of Labs

  • University of Wah (UW) is pleased to announce the reopening of the University. Lab courses for which an ‘I’ grade was assigned during Fall-2020 and Spring-2021, shall be conducted on an accelerated pace from 28 June 2021 onward
  • Steps has been taken to keep number of students a minimum, to the extent possible, in view of COVID-19 SOP’s. Respective Chairpersons will issue the schedule of practical classes in accordance with the following main plan:
    • Faculty of Basic Sciences
      Fall-18 and Fall 20 intake: 28th June - 16th July 2021 (Three weeks)
    • Faculty of Engineering
      • Fall-17 intake: 28th June - 9th July 2021 (Two weeks)
      • Fall-18 intake: 12th July - 6th August 2021 (Four weeks)
      • Fall-20 intake: 9th August – 3rd September 2021 (Four weeks)
    • Civil Engineering Survey Camp: 21st June- 16th July 2021 (Four weeks)
  • For smaller class size, students have been assigned to groups. Concerned departments will inform the students, through emails, about their respective groups. Queries, if any, may be directed to the department Focal Persons.
  • Students from far flung areas shall be given priority for hostel accommodation. All students desirous of availing the hostel accommodation will have to apply for it through their respective Chairpersons.
  • On the very first day of re-joining University/Hostel, students will have to submit a health declaration (specimen attached) to the respective class tutors/ hostel wardens.
  • Students are STRONGLY urged to register themselves for vaccination.
  • In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, all students are to strictly adhere to the following precautionary measures: -
    • Wearing of mask is MANDATORY. Masks will also be available on cash payment at the entry gates and student’s canteen.
    • Cooperate with the staff deputed at the entrance gate for taking the temperature and sanitizing the hands. Use ONLY the designated entrances and exits.
    • Maintain maximum social/ physical distancing in laboratories, libraries, cafeterias, offices, corridors and staircases. All social gatherings are prohibited.
    • NO HANDSHAKE POLICY will be adopted by all.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, especially with unwashed hands.
    • Hands should be washed frequently for 20 seconds with soap and water or use a hand sanitizer.
    • Use a tissue (and dispose it off properly) or use the crook of your elbow when coughing or sneezing.
    • If students themselves or any of their family members at home develop any COVID symptoms, he/she should immediately consult their doctor, stay at home and inform their respective Department.
  • In view of the changing environment or instructions from HEC/PHEC/PEC, the competent authority of the University may make necessary changes in the policy given above. Students should regularly check for the latest updates and general guidance provided by the University on the web portal.
